Plenty of people recognized Mandy’s stunning look, but others accused her of Photoshopping the pictures to make herself look slimmer. So, Mandy decided to address her critics head-on.
She started replying to haters directly in the comments section of one photo. Her responses included things like “Not nice or true. Do better” and “This is so disheartening. Nope just the angle. Ugh.”
These 60-second transformations prove that angle really matters in a photo:
Mandy then updated her caption to make it very clear that she’s no into altering anything. “I am 5’10 and a size 6. I have NEVER photoshopped pictures. That’s not what I’m about,” she wrote. “If you’re going to be rude about people’s bodies, go elsewhere.”
Mandy got some serious props for fans for fighting back. “You’re gorgeous! Haters gonna hate,” one person wrote. “Mandy, you are champagne in a tall glass. The women slating you are warm piss in a plastic cup,” another said.
Mandy has been busy promoting the second season of This Is Us, but she found time to get engaged to her boyfriend, musician Taylor Goldsmith, in September. She recently toldInStyle that she’s planning on having a low-key wedding. “I think it will be small, and quiet, and private. I’m really lucky. My job allows me to get dressed up and take pictures, and be the center of attention in a way that makes me slightly uncomfortable that I don’t know if I—I’ve never dreamed of emulating that in my real life,” she said. “So I think I’ll probably take the opposite route when it comes to getting married.”
